IS THIS GUIDE JUST FOR BOOK PHOTOGRAPHY?

That’s the focus of the guide, but anyone who wants to learn the basics of photography, composition, and styling will love this guide! While most of the examples are book-based, I also pull examples from my time as a wedding photographer and home design influencer, along with other product photography examples. Influencers, content creators, and shop owners in all areas could learn from this guide. If you have any questions on whether this guide will be specifically helpful for you, feel free to reach out!

WILL THIS GUIDE HELP ME GAIN FOLLOWERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

Increasing follower numbers is not the focus on this guide. We do go through how to build a strong social media strategy, and having great photos to share on your social media could certainly attract new followers!

I’M AN EXPERT IN PHOTOGRAPHY AND CONTENT CREATION. DO I NEED THIS GUIDE?

Well, I guess that depends on what you’re looking to get out of it! This guide is geared towards people who want to uplevel their photography and social media content, so if you love what you’re already doing, it might not be for you. But this guide does have 100+ pages of content, so I’m guessing most people can learn something!

WILL THIS GUIDE TEACH ME HOW TO USE MY NEW MANUAL (DSLR, MIRRORLESS) CAMERA?

No. This guide focuses on improving your photography and styling skills using whatever camera you’re already comfortable with. While it emphasizes phone photography, the principles can also be applied to manual photography.

DO I HAVE TO BUY A BUNCH OF EQUIPMENT TO COMPLETE THIS COURSE?

Not at all! I have recommendations for some inexpensive things you can choose to purchase and DIY, but you can start implementing the core principles of this guide with the things you already have at home.

WHAT ABOUT EDITING SOFTWARE? WILL I NEED TO BUY/SUBSCRIBE?

This guide teaches the essentials components of photo editing, which can be applied to any photo editing software you’re already using. I also provide a more in-depth exploration of Lightroom and VSCO. Lightroom/Lightroom Mobile has a monthly subscription. VSCO has a free version and paid version.

WILL THIS COURSE TEACH ME ABOUT ARTIFICIAL LIGHT?

No, the focus of this course is using different kinds of natural light. We will not discuss flash photography or continuous artificial lighting.

WILL I LEARN HOW TO CREATE VIDEO CONTENT?

Video content is an important part of content creation! While video content is not the focus of this guide, there are several sections where we’ll talk about how to translate the photography skills we’re learning into video content.
